Welcome to my little corner of the world—where stories are brewed, characters run slightly wild, and there’s almost always at least one dog sleeping nearby.

I’ve been writing novels for ten years now (how did that happen?!), and honestly, the time has flown. And even after all this time, I still get that fluttery, nervous-excited feeling on publication day—when a book flies out into the big wide world and becomes yours. It’s thrilling. It’s terrifying. And I wouldn’t swap it for anything.
These days, I write from my slightly ramshackle cottage in the heart of Staffordshire, surrounded by fields, fresh air, and my three dogs: Nellie, Cooper, and Betty—my Romanian rescue who joined us at Christmas. All my children have flown the nest, but life here is never quiet, and I’m never lonely.
Every weekday, you’ll find me at my desk from 9am to 3pm, tapping away and disappearing into imaginary worlds. People often ask me where my stories come from. The truth? I’ve always lived a little bit in my head. At school, I was once told I didn’t live in the “real world”—someone even said I existed in “soap opera land.” These days, I take that as the highest compliment. Turns out, it’s the perfect place for a novelist.
I love writing. I barely plan. I follow my characters wherever they decide to lead me—and somehow, we usually end up somewhere wonderful.
